We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, the government department of a prominent international bank in Zurich, for a Senior Compliance Analyst focused on bank guidelines. This pivotal role ensures the bank's adherence to stringent banking laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, thereby maintaining an effective and independent compliance function.
What You'll Do
- Ensure comprehensive compliance with banking law regulations, regulatory requirements, and internal rules.
- Maintain an independent and effective compliance function across all operational business areas.
- Guarantee compliance with international cross-border regulations and contribute to the ongoing development of internal rules and processes.
- Oversee the controlling of compliance risks, continuously evaluate issued regulations for compliance, assess their potential effects, and provide expert advice to senior management.
- Ensure that the compliance function effectively implements the risk-oriented control program.
- Provide regular, insightful reporting to senior management, forming a crucial basis for executive board decision-making.
- Uphold unrestricted rights to information, inspection, and auditing within all business functions and IT systems.
- Actively cooperate with financial market supervisory authorities on regulatory issues and coordination efforts.
- Monitor regulatory changes, communicate new developments, and prepare detailed analyses of their potential impacts on the bank.
- Conduct target group-specific training courses to enhance compliance awareness.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.
What You'll Need
- Hold a Master's or PhD in Law or Economics.
- Possess specialist training and certifications in compliance or governance.
- Demonstrate extensive professional experience in banking auditing (at a manager or senior manager level within a large company), within the business risk department of an international bank, or in the compliance department of a financial market supervisory authority or the European Central Bank (ECB).
- Exhibit specialization in European financial market regulation and a keen interest in the impact of regulatory changes on banking operations.
- Proven experience in project management and the successful implementation of regulatory projects.
- Possess solid knowledge of regulatory requirements in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and broader European regulations.
- Be an analytical, proactive personality with a practical, solution- and results-oriented mindset, coupled with strong team orientation.
- Show interest in coordination activities and delivering impactful presentations.
- Possess IT flair and excellent MS Office skills.
- Be proficient in both German and English.
