The Story Behind the Role
How does a Data Analytics Working Student directly contribute to 1KOMMA5°'s ambitious mission of accelerating the energy transition, especially given the diverse data sources from solar, heat pumps, and charging infrastructure?
Honestly, as a working student here, you're not just doing busy work. Your role in building out our central data architecture is foundational. Imagine having real-time insights into how our solar installations are performing or how effectively our heat pumps are being utilized across thousands of homes. That's the data you'll be helping to collect, transform, and visualize. It directly informs strategic decisions, optimizes our 'Virtual Assembly Line,' and ultimately makes us more efficient in pushing the energy transition forward. It's incredibly rewarding to see your dashboards influence real-world outcomes.
What kind of professional growth and learning opportunities can a working student expect, particularly in terms of mentorship and exposure to advanced data practices, within such a fast-paced scale-up environment?
The learning curve here is steep, in the best way possible! You'll be working alongside some incredibly smart people who are genuinely happy to share their knowledge. We don't silo our working students; you'll be building end-to-end data pipelines and developing analyses in Looker just like full-timers. You'll also get direct exposure to core decision-makers, which is rare for this level, offering invaluable insights into how data drives business strategy. Plus, given our rapid growth, there’s always new tech and new challenges to tackle, ensuring your skills are always sharp. Many of our working students transition into full-time roles, which speaks volumes about the growth path.
How does 1KOMMA5° ensure a strong sense of team connection and support for working students, especially with the remote-first working model across Germany?
That's a great question, and it's something we're very intentional about. While we're remote-first, we foster a culture of active communication and collaboration. We use tools extensively for daily stand-ups, project discussions, and even virtual coffee breaks. There are regular team meetups, both virtually and in-person at our offices in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich, which you're encouraged to join. For working students specifically, we pair you with a mentor who guides you through projects and ensures you feel integrated. We also have dedicated channels for social interactions and company-wide events. It's about building a connected community, not just a collection of remote workers.
